Towards the end of September, it was decided to have Kai switch from a G-tube to a G-J Tube. We took him up to Children's to have this procedure done at radiology. Unfortunately, after 3 tries the procedure was unsuccessful. The tube kept backing up into his stomach. So on October 1st, Kai had an endoscopy done to place this G-J Tube. They had a little trouble with it, but they ended up being successful. So now Kai has bolus feeds in the G tube (tube that goes right into his stomach) during the day and then an 8 hour drip feed in the J tube (tube that goes right into his small intestine) on the overnight. He is tolerating these feeds and has gain a little weight so far.
