Selly Update!

We have been working hard to get our house ready to be put on the market. It has been on the market for almost a week now. Of course we are hoping that it goes fast, but we remind ourselves that it could take time. Anyone interested? :) We have been looking at other houses in town online. We actually viewed 4 houses this past Friday. Two of them definitely were not of our interest. The other two were okay, but not sure if they would fit us. Of course, we cannot get too serious about another house until ours sells.

Levi is still working four 10 hour shifts a week. I'm down to 2 part time girls now and I officially go unlicensed July 1st.

That is about all that is new besides what I have already posted. Until next time!!

Jace and Daddy

Daddy and his boys!
Today we took the boys to Como Zoo and Park. They had a lot of fun looking at the animals. One of the most exciting animals to see was the baby giraffe. After looking at all the animals, we headed over to Como Town and let the boys ride some rides. It was a great day for it all!

Kai had his surgery

Kai 6-27-09
Kai grabbing at his toes

Kai watching the fish. He just loves to watch them. Before I put him in the highchair, I held him right up against the glass. He was laughing and getting so excited about the fish.

Kai's favorite position lately. He has been falling asleep like this a lot. Notice how his one leg and foot are positioned...
Kai had his ear tubes put in this past Friday. Surgery went well. I think he's been having a little ear pain. The audiologist ran another ABR. Conclusion was that Kai has a slight hearing loss in his left ear and slight to moderate in his right. At this point, we do not know why. It sounds like they want to do a cat scan of his head. He will be getting hearing aids. We will be meeting up with the audiologist to discuss which ones are going to be the best for him.

Finally warm enough

It's been finally warm enough for the pool. Took the boys and daycare girls to the wading pool on Thursday. They had a blast!

Update on Kai

Where to start?? Kind of a lot in the past few weeks. Kai is still sick with his icky cold, cough, upper respiratory crud. I feel so bad for him, especially when he has a coughing attack. Hopefully he will get well enough by next Friday. He is scheduled for ear tube surgery on the 26th. The audiologist will be running an ABR at that time as well. He really needs to get these tubes in. I really believe that it is going to make a world of a difference for him. Once the ABR results come back, then we can talk about hearing aides for him.

Kai had an eye appointment. His vision is good! At his last eye appointment, he was showing some near sightedness (is that even a word???), but not anymore. He goes back in October.

Kai also saw GI that same day. We talked about his feedings and how he isn't gaining much weigh. She put in a referral to a dietician from Pediatric Home Service. We also decided that he would probably be better with a shorter button, so that order was put in.

Kai had a Gillette appointment last Friday for his upper extremeties. Basically there's nothing that can be done with his right arm right now. And even though his arm hyperextends, there are no restrictions as far as weight bearing activites. While we were there, Kai was also able to see his orthopedic doctor. We had him look at his lower leg that is bowing. I believe he said that is nothing to worry about. We did talk about legs splints. Kai should be getting those at the end of summer/early fall. He will probably not beable to support his own weight safely without those splints. We also talked to the doctor about the probability of Kai walking...it doesn't sound like that is in the cards. He really doesn't think that Kai will walk, but said something along the lines of either been proved wrong or something like that. We see orthopedics again at the end of August.

Today I talked to the dietician from Pediatric Home Service. We are going to ease Kai to the 26 calorie diet. Right now he is currently on 24 cals. She is going to work with us on Kai's feedings and will be checking in weekly.

Kai is reaching and grabbing more at things. He likes to roll on the floor. He will roll both from back to tummy and tummy to back. He gets stuck sometimes and then gets mad.

That is the latest on Kai. Until next time!

Turtle outside our house...She was digging a hole to lay eggs. The kids enjoyed watching this turtle.

A Selly Household Update

It has been very busy around the Selly house. It is never dull around here. If you haven't heard, we have to decided to put our house on the market and move into town. We meet with the realtor on Monday to officially put it on the market. Lots to do before then. It's going to be tough to keep our house perfectly clean with all the boys in the house. Another major change that is happening, is that I am going unlicensed for daycare as of July 1st. I will have almost 4 years of daycare in. I will still be doing daycare for a couple of girls, but will not be licensed.

We had our garage sale this past Saturday. It went very well. Wish we would have gotten rid of everything, but oh well. We will be donating the stuff to our church as they will be having a rummage sale on the 27th.

Sheldon has gone back to Missouri now. It was nice to have him here.

Within the next few weeks, we will be getting rid of our home phone. So if you need to get a hold of us, you will need to call our cell phones.

Kai is 8 months old!

I can't believe Kai is 8 months old already!!! Wow! At his last weighing (6-8-09), he weighed 14lbs and 11 ozs. He will get weighed again on Wednesday, so I am eager to see how much he has gained. Kai is still sick with that icky cold/cough, upper respiratory junk. I feel so bad for him when he has a coughing attack. Above are some recent pictures of Kai. I will write more about Kai in a "Kai update".

Kai's 1st time in the high chair

Tonight was Kai's 1st time in the high chair. I wasn't sure how well he would sit in it, but he did well. He is so small. He doesn't sit much above the tray.

Gavin's Ear Tube

Gavin's ear tube is on it's way out. It's the white thing in his ear. We took a picture so that he could see inside of his ear as well.

More equipment

School brought Kai some more equipment to use. He really enjoyed sitting like this. He was able to watch all the kids play and everything that was going on around him.

Ear Infection AGAIN!!!

Kai sitting up all by himself with weight support on his legs, he can only sit by himself for just a few seconds.

Kai has ear infection again and in both ears this time. He started off with a cough on Saturday and his cough got worse. By Sunday late afternoon, his cough was so bad that he seemed like he was having a hard time breathing at moments. Took him in to urgent care and yep...double ear infection. He was also a little wheezy, but not enough to put him on a nebulizer. So back on antibiotics he went.
